Nadja Jovanovic graduated in painting from the Faculty of the Fine Arts in Belgrade. Since than she has been working as an independent artist, and has been involved in different collaborative projects. She currently lives and works in Croatia.
The subject matter of her work is based on exploring aspects of existence. The presence of the individual in a moment and time, and self projection of reality. She is interested in transformational characters. The epicenter of her work is the person, isolated from society, framed in constant questioning of reality, in constant dualism of conscious and unconscious, closed in personal perception. She is interested in the process itself, of creating an illusion. Pictures are for her the manifestation of that illusion.
