After a friend shared Loving Vincent's 'call for artists' to work on the film, Hemali Vadalia, an Artist and Animator from Mumbai, India, applied and successfully made it to the Loving Vincent studios in Gdansk in May 2016.

Hemali loves travelling, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. She also likes to collaborate with other artists to infuse their distinct cultural heritage into her works. She has explored various media and crafts in her works such as plasticine, paper, sand, clay, oils, charcoal, chalk etc. However her core interests lie in academic drawing and painting. Hemali is a Computer Engineering graduate from University of Mumbai. Her strong creative bent towards the fine arts, led her to pursue Masters in Animation from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. Subsequently she also took classes in classical realism at ateliers in Italy and New York where she worked on both painting and sculpting.
