Dominica is an award-winning artist who focuses on animation and printmaking. She was born in Moscow where she received a traditional art education from one of the oldest art schools in the city. Before moving to the UK, she worked as a children’s books illustrator and was involved in a several art exhibitions in Moscow and Kaluga.
She studied Animation in Edinburgh College of Art, where her graduation film ‘Illusions’ won awards and prizes in international animation festivals as well as art shows around the world. She has worked as a private art tutor and a freelance animator. Within the last year she completed a residency with East London Printmakers, where she made her latest animation ‘Misshape Happenings’. She also completed an internship with Jealous Studio and recently joined the Technical team in London College of Communication.
Being involved with Loving Vincent was an inspirational experience and brought new feel to her own films. Dominica’s work is always had a strong handcrafted feel to it and combines traditional and alternative methods of creating visuals.
