Dr Carmen Belean started her painting training at the age of eleven when she enrolled at the Arts and Humanities Highschool of Cluj, Romania. Upon graduation, she continued her studies in painting at the Arts University of Bucharest for one year and then for five more years in Cluj University of Art and Design. Between the years 2000- 2012 she travelled extensively taking art residencies and scholarships throughout Europe, including a four year practice at an art studio in Athens, Greece. In 2015 she receives her PhD in painting from the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca. She currently lives and works between Cluj and Athens. Carmean joined the Loving Vincent ‘Greek Team’ in March 2016.
