Martin Herdman stars as Gendarme Rigaumon

Martin has been an actor for 30 years. In that time he has played many roles in Theatre, TV, and Film, ranging from the most awful villains in TV dramas and soaps, to more endearing comedic characters in theatre, such as Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Nottingham Playhouse. Martin also acted at Shakespeare Globe Theatre for a season. Most recently he played the leading role of Micky in the feature film Sink. Before acting, Martin was a professional sportsman. Initially as a heavyweight boxer also representing England as an amateur.

 

Then he became a professional rugby player for Fulham RLFC for six years and played for Wales many times.  He has five children, ten grandchildren and lives with his partner Helen.
